Bass Guitarist Wayman Tisdale Scores New Album 'Rebound' Out June 3rd, 2008

New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Rendezvous Entertainment) - NBA star-turned-musical giant Wayman Tisdale is at the top of his game on 'Rebound,' set for release June 3rd on Rendezvous Entertainment. After recovering from bone cancer last year, Tisdale set about filling the aptly-named 'Rebound' with joyful, laid-back grooves anchored by Tisdale's funky and melodic bass leads. 'Rebound' also features a remake of Barry White's "Never Gonna Give You Up," an unlikely but inspired collaboration with country giant Toby Keith. Tisdale recruits veteran musicians Brian Simpson (keyboards), gospel legend Marvin Sapp and saxophonist Dave Koz on his journey through jazz, funk and his own gospel roots.

Before he retired after the 1997 basketball season, Tisdale had already made the transition toward a career in music. In 1995 he released his debut CD, appropriately titled 'Power Forward,' which went to No.
4 on Billboard's contemporary jazz charts and, like all of his music, crossed over into the R&B charts. His subsequent albums 'In the Zone,' 'Decisions' and 'Face to Face' all landed in Billboard's Top 10, with 2001's 'Face to Face' going all the way to No. 1. 'Hang Time,' his debut release on Rendezvous Entertainment, set a record for Tisdale, staying in the top five longer than any of his previous releases while his second release for Rendezvous 'Way Up' scored Wayman's best sales and came in at No. 1 on Billboard Contemporary Jazz and No. 1 on Heatseekers. Tisdale has also had two No. 1 radio hits with "Can't Hide Love" and 'Hang Time's' "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now."

In addition to his solo career, Wayman has performed with some of the most beloved artists in contemporary music, including Steven Tyler, Run-DMC, Dave Koz, Sammy Hagar, Toby Keith, Al Jarreau and David Sanborn. In 2002, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame with the Legacy Tribute Award for up-and-coming musicians. The NAACP nominated Wayman as Outstanding Jazz Artist for the 2004 Image Awards.
