Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside To Release Debut LP 'Dirty Radio' May 24 Via Partisan Records
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside have confirmed the May 24 release of 'Dirty Radio,' their debut album for Partisan Records. With a clear, keening voice of rare power, Ford offers up 11 tracks of her uniquely soulful blend of rockabilly, pop, punk, and jazz, like the musical child of Buddy Holly and Ella Fitzgerald. Hailing from Asheville, NC, and now based in Portland, OR, Ford and The Sound Outside were voted Best New Band of 2010 by Willamette Week, which proclaimed "you simply can't ignore this band."

Ford and her groupTyler Tornfelt (upright bass), Ford Tennis (drums), and Jeffrey Munger (lead guitar)will unveil tracks from 'Dirty Radio' this spring at SXSW, and at a pre-release show in NYC on March 29 at the Mercury Lounge. See below for schedule.

Ford caught her big break last year when The Avett Brothers invited her to open two sold-out shows in Portland. The Avetts were so enamored with Ford's sound, they asked her back to North Carolina to open their annual New Year's Eve blowout in Ford's native Asheville.

"Her songs have that rare quality of somehow combining fun with emotional and artistic integrity," Seth Avett raved in an interview with The Oregonian. "Her voice is 100 percent her own, and she fills the room with it."

More details on 'Dirty Radio' and tour dates will be announced soon.
