ATLANTA, GA. (Music Midtown/ www.musicmidtown.com) - Music Midtown, one of the nation's premier music festivals, announced today the initial line-up for its Coca-Cola/ Hot 107.9/ Fox 5 Stage. In addition, Music Midtown announced that tickets will go on sale at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 9. Tickets will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets or charge by phone at 404-249-6400 and also available at https://www.atlantaconcerts.com

The festival is honored and pleased to be working with the newly appointed President of Virgin Records Urban Music Division, Jermaine Dupri, to produce this stage. Dupri, who is recognized as one of Atlanta's hip hop pioneers, will be making appearances throughout the weekend to complement the stellar line up.
Artists already scheduled to perform on the 2005 Music Midtown Urban Music Stage include: Ciara, Black Eyed Peas and Slim Thug.

Sunday's Urban Stage line-up will pay tribute to those artists who paved the way for today's hip hop stars. Biz Markie will DJ the stage throughout the day with acts including: MC Lyte, Whodini, Choc, Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick.

Dupri's support of Music Midtown is a true testament to the festival. Though his talent is recognized world-wide, he remains dedicated to promoting the entertainment industry in Atlanta.
"Over the years, Atlanta has really established itself as a hub for all kinds of great music. The talent in this city is phenomenal and Music Midtown has made it a priority to promote that talent during the last 11 years. We plan to make the 12th festival the best festival to date," said Dupri.
"The line-up for this year's Urban Stage will be unparalleled as we plan to showcase well-known acts, the up-and-coming stars and some of the people who were responsible for creating hip hop. Festival goers will not be disappointed."

A number of acts have been added to the festival line up. New additions are as follows:
* Miller Lite/ 99X Stage: Michael Tolcher, Interpol
* Ford/Best Buy/ 96 Rock Stage: Def Leppard, Lou Reed, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, John Fogerty, Francine Reed
* Hooters/Kicks 101.5 Stage: Bill Gentry, Trace Adkins, The Wrights, Shelly Fairchild, Darryl Worley, Chris Cagle, Clay Walker, Cowboy Crush

This year's Music Midtown will take place on new dates, June 10-12, but at the same location adjacent to the Atlanta Civic Center and will feature more than 100 musical acts. Additional line up announcements to follow. More festival information can be found at https://www.musicmidtown.com

About Music Midtown
In 1994, producers Alex Cooley & Peter Conlon, founders of the renowned concert promotion firm, Concert Southern set out to create the most unique music festival. Upon Cooley's retirement in 2004, the festival is now solely produced by Peter Conlon Presents, which is a part of the Clear Channel Entertainment family. Music Midtown is internationally recognized as one of the greatest and most unique festivals. For the past eleven years, festival goers from around the world descend upon the heart of the South to experience Music Midtown, America's largest three-day music festival. Over 100 major and emerging acts representing all genres of music perform each year on multiple outdoor stages on a 40+ acre complex centered between the bustling metropolitan areas of Midtown and Downtown Atlanta, Georgia. With an amazingly low admission price, Music Midtown annually draws 300,000 revelers to Atlanta. In its twelfth year, the festival promises to carry out its tradition of featuring the biggest names in music and one of the most diverse lineups of any music festival in the world. Music Midtown also works to promote the city of Atlanta while highlighting the economic and cultural importance of the event to international media.
