Biography
The Vamps are a British pop rock band consisting of Brad Simpson (lead vocals and guitar), James McVey (lead guitar and vocals), Connor Ball (bass guitar and vocals) and Tristan Evans (drums and vocals). They first gained fame in late 2012 with cover songs uploaded to YouTube. They were signed to Mercury Records in November 2012. They supported McFly on their Memory Lane Tour in early 2013, and they performed around the UK as support acts for artists such as Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Little Mix, Demi Lovato, The Wanted, JLS and Lawson. They have since released three studio albums and are set to go on a headlining tour in the US and UK to support their third album Night & Day.
"Can We Dance" was released as The Vamps' debut single in September 2013 which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart. Their second single "Wild Heart" was released on 18 January 2014 and peaked at number three. Their third single "Last Night" was released on UK radio on 24 February 2014 and digital download on 6 April 2014. Their debut album Meet the Vamps was released on 14 April 2014. In February 2014, the Vamps released "Wild Heart" as their debut single in the US and Canada.
The Vamps have launched their own record label Steady Records and they are working in partnership with EMI/Universal on the offshoot, and the first act signed was the American band The Tide. The Vamps released their second studio album Wake Up on 27 November 2015. The lead single from the album, "Wake Up", was released on 2 October 2015. On 1 April 2016, "I Found a Girl" was released as the third single.
On 14 October 2016, "All Night", a collaboration with Norwegian DJ Matoma, was released as the first single from their third studio album. The second single "Middle of the Night, a collaboration with Danish DJ Martin Jensen, was released on 28 April 2017. The third single "Hands", a collaboration with Swedish DJ Mike Perry, was released on 19 May 2017. On 14 July 2017, The Vamps released the first part of their third studio album titled Night & Day (Night Edition). It debuted atop of the UK Albums Chart, becoming the band's first number-one album.
On 13 October 2017, the band released the single "Personal" as the official lead single from the second part of their third album. The second single "Too Good to be True", a collaboration with Spanish DJ Danny Avila, was released on 2 March 2018. They released the singles "Hair Too Long" on 20 April 2018 and "Just My Type" on 15 June 2018. On 13 July 2018, they released the second part of the album titled Night & Day (Day Edition). It debuted at number one on the Official Scottish Albums Chart and number two on the UK Albums Chart. The Vamps collaborated with English DJ Sigala and released the single "We Don’t Care" on 27 July 2018.
Maggie Lindemann (born July 21, 1998) is a singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. Her 2016 debut single "Pretty Girl" peaked at number 2 in Sweden, number 4 in Belgium, number 8 in Norway and the UK and number 16 in the Netherlands.
Lindemann was born in Dallas, Texas. She began posting recordings of her singing on the social media app Keek, gaining a following both on the app and her other social media accounts. Her career in music began shortly after her manager Gerald Tennison discovered a video of her singing on her Instagram page. She then relocated to Los Angeles to continue pursuing music.
In 2016, Lindemann publicly came out as bisexual.
