Biography
At the age of 21, Salzburg's Mathea Holler sings in her debut single "2x" (pronounced twice) so sensitively and forcefully about it, like nobody else. Playfully, she portrays past togetherness, confidently sings an emotional rollercoaster ride and the search for a way out of the "feeling pinch".
This is more than good German pop, an irresistible rhythmic song and Mathea, whose voice masters the balancing act between power and vulnerability.
"Each of my songs has a very personal background," says the sensitive singer. "Writing this song was especially easy for me - much of it was said exactly in the same words." A sung revenge on an ex? No, Mathea points out, but a clear message: it's better not to make the same mistake for the third time, and instead bravely look ahead to the future.
