iTunes Premieres First Listen Of Crowder's Debut Solo LP; Makes Grand Ole Opry Debut 5/31
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Missing Piece Group) Critically acclaimed "folktronica" artist and songwriter Crowder will release his highly anticipated solo debut album Neon Steeple on May 27th via Capitol CMG's sixsteprecords. Long embraced for his tenure as the frontman of the wildly progressive group David Crowder Band, this is his first set of new music in 2+ years and marks his official entrance as a solo artist. Just less than a week away from the worldwide release, iTunes premiered the album in full as an iTunes Radio First Play, check it out here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/station/idra.868342243

Crowder described Neon Steeple as "The Appalachians and Ibiza. Folk music and EDM. The music of the People. Folktronica. Digital and Analog. The Ones and Zeros and the Handshake. The Banjo and the 808. A critique and a hope"

Among the new tracks on Neon Steeple is a duet with music icon Emmylou Harris on "My Sweet Lord." His single "I AM" also holds strong in the Top 5 of Billboard's Christian Music Songs chart. Further strengthening his ties into folk/country music, Crowder will make his Grand Ole Opry debut on May 31, the week of his album release.

In support of Neon Steeple, Crowder will headline a fall tour which kicks off in Springfield, MO on September 30. The tour will include special guests All Sons & Daughters, Capital Kings and Ellie Holcomb on select dates.

As part of the David Crowder Band, they were named one of the "most thoughtful, progressive and exciting acts in contemporary Christian music" by The New York Times, garnering 9 Dove Awards, 22 Dove nominations, and 2 GRAMMY nominations. The band's final release, Give Us Rest, entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #2, debuted at #1 on iTunes, sold 50,000 copies in the first week alone, and gave the band their highest debut in their 12-year career. In total, they've sold over 2 million albums, 2.9 million digital tracks, and had 11 Top 10 albums on Billboard's Christian Albums Chart, including four that reached #1.
