New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Coldplay's new album, Ghost Stories (Parlophone/Atlantic Records), debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and - with sales of 383,474 copies in its first week - scores the largest sales week of the year. Ghost Stories is the band's fourth consecutive studio album to top the Billboard 200.
SPIN hailed Ghost Stories as "some of their finest, most understated work in over a decade." The Los Angeles Times praised the album's sense of intimacy, observing, "At a moment when their many inheritors are going as big as possible...[Coldplay] are distinguishing themselves by taking the opposite tack."
