Santa Monica, CA (Top40 Charts/ 429 Records) Echo & The Bunnymen's long-awaited new studio album, Meteorites, will be available in the U.S. tomorrow, June 3rd via 429 Records. After worldwide premieres in The Guardian, MSN Music and Pandora, the album was released on May 26th in the UK and is already a hit debuting at #30. Produced by Youth, Meteorites contains ten highly personal new songs written by founder Ian McCulloch and performed by Bunnymen stalwarts McCulloch and Will Sergeant along with Gordy Goudie (guitar) and Stephen Brannan (bass). The band released two singles simultaneously—"Lovers On The Run" in the UK and "Holy Moses" as the first U.S. single. Says Rolling Stone of "Lovers on the Run": "Luxuriating in string-sloshed killing-moon ooze that could teach today's young folks a thing or two about how to spoon out the decadent splendor." They announced their return to the U.S. for a tour which begins August 1st in Los Angeles at the historic Orpheum Theatre.
