Old Lyme, Conn. (Top40 Charts/ Hummingbird Media) Last month, audio specialist Sennheiser announced its MOMENTUM campaign, which together with Spotify highlights one hundred unique sound stories from all over the world: stories about creators with MOMENTUM, people who push the world forward with their creative passions. The stories feature artists, innovators and entrepreneurs in the truest sense, and serve to inspire others to uncover their own unique MOMENTUM.
The story of world-famous, Paris-based beatbox artist EKLIPS is the latest in this series of inspiring stories. Charismatic, cool and infinitely talented, EKLIPS exudes a magnetic force of personality and bewildering skills on the microphone that has captivated and mesmerized music fans around the world. As one of the world's greatest human beatboxes, EKLIPS is a flawless mimic capable of absorbing and replicating both human and instrumental sounds, while pushing the very limits of the human voice.
As a performing artist, one of EKLIPS' signature tricks is to imitate fellow rap artists with uncanny accuracy and precision. His own imitation of
Eminem led him to wonder if he could match Eminem's legendary unofficial world record for rapping more than 101 words in just 16 seconds — such a feat could potentially propel him towards becoming master rather than imitator.
"My MOMENTUM is to rap faster than Eminem," EKLIPS says. "I used to do
Busta Rhymes on stage when I saw Eminem, and thought he was crazy fast. But I thought I could do even better! To beat the unofficial world record of Rap God
Eminem was a big challenge for me. But, in my opinion, this is exactly what it means to have MOMENTUM - to go one step further and to reach a level not everybody can reach."
As part of its global MOMENTUM campaign, Sennheiser joins EKLIPS as he embarks on this fearless endeavor, training his already immaculate verbal dexterity to reach new heights. What's your MOMENTUM?
As part of the MOMENTUM campaign, Sennheiser is inviting anyone to share their creativity by contributing their own videos on www.sennheiser-momentum.com and by watching the MOMENTUM videos. Visitors can vote for their favorite stories and add their own seven-second MOMENTUM film to a video chain that inspired them, or that shares the same themes or ideas as their own submission. To take part in the MOMENTUM project, videos can be uploaded between now and July 31, 2014.
Those who inspire the most successful chains, creators of the most successful videos, and people who vote over ten times in a week will be eligible for a weekly prize drawing for a pair of MOMENTUM headphones and a six month subscription to Spotify Premium. As part of the campaign, Sennheiser will also award 'ultimate sound experience' trips to New York, London and Tokyo.
