Praise for
Lykke Li + I Never Learn:
"On her two previous albums,
Lykke Li has been something of a floating presence, but everything about this album is intensely grounded... The quiet gospel influence running through this album is striking. Songs like 'Just Like a Dream' and 'Silverline' reach for a theatrical ethereality, with swelling melodies that merge hope and desperation." - New York Times
"This is widescreen drama meant to hit with direct and precise impact... I Never Learn is for the times when heartbreak is so life-affirming that you want to share the feeling with the world." - Pitchfork (8.4, "Best New Music")
"[I Never Learn is] extraordinary as both a collection of songs and a tactical re-wiring of her genre's circuit board... Li doesn't shy away from intensity, vulgarity or the distinctly un-showy variations on gray inherent to depression, and her music is better for it. If all pop music were this well-made and emotionally mature, maybe we wouldn't have so much to fight about." - NPR First Listen
"...another perfect soundtrack for late nights and lonely hearts, wrapping her open-vein lyrics in swirling, percussive layers of dream-pop melancholy." -Entertainment Weekly ("Must List")
"I Never Learn is a brave album... Li's songwriting is exquisite in its vulnerability; she has never sounded more sure of her aesthetic..." - Billboard.
