Wicked Saints Release A Spangled Single Featured On Upcoming Indie Compilation
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ WiFi PR Group) Also dubbed, The Oxymorons of Rock, Los Angeles indie group Wicked Saints describe their music as, "Raw, organic music with no artificial sweeteners. It's good for you!" However, lead singer Paul McCarty follows that up with the truth, "Some is slightly toxic." This description is appropriate for a band that melds an eclectic mix of genres and style, such as Americana, folk-rock, swampy Louisiana grooves, reggae, pop and blues—all with a constant driving beat and a heartfelt mastery of their instruments. This sound will soon be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 7.

Wicked Saints is comprised of five members: Paul McCarty on lead vocals, guitar and harmonica, John Gannon on drums, cajon and harmony vocals, Robert Thomas on piano and accordion, Chad Watson on bass, Brent Michelle on harmony vocals and Josh Halpern on guitar. Together, they create a sound that has been influenced by Neil Young, The Band, Led Zeppelin, Mumford & Sons and Ryan Adams.

This carefully crafted sound comes out to sound something like Tom Petty, Neil Young and Wilco. They claim lyrical inspirations such as, "Paul will never have a successful relationship," "Todd Palin should leave his wife," "Be kind to blackbirds" and "Other and miscellaneous." As a result, their sound has been well-received by fans and critics alike, including a number of positive reviews for their second album, Don't Kill the Blackbird.

Another example of appreciation for Wicked Saints' music was when Peter DiStefano (Pomo for Pyros, Lance Herbstrong) took a liking to their first, self-titled recording and made a few remix versions of three songs on the album. He then also played guitar on three tracks of the band's second album.

To further spread the love and appreciation of their music, Wicked Saints will have their latest single, "Spangled," featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 7, a collection of international independent talent spanning a wide range of genres that WiFi PR hopes to put on the radar of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Chicago's Lollapalooze in August 2014, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies will be made available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

To catch Wicked Saints live, fans can check out Wicked Saints' upcoming performances at TopTune, a solo performance by Paul, at Busby's East in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 19th, at Coffee Gallery Backstage, opening for Chauncey Bowers, in Altadena on Thursday, June 26th and a Ranch Party at EB's Beer and Wine Bar at the Farmers Market in Los Angeles, on Saturday, July 26th. On September 7th, they will be featured in an interview with KPIG FM, followed up by a performance that evening at Bocci's Cellar in Santa Cruz.

Wicked Saints' music is available for streaming through Spotify and on Tunecube and Bandcamp players on their website. Their music can also be purchased through all Tunecore outlets, including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, Google Play, iHeartRadio, Rdio, Rhapsody, Xbox Music and more.

Fans can also check out videos from Wicked Saints on the band's YouTube channel. These include videos for "River of Fire," "Anything Could Happen" and "Which Way the Wind Blows."
