The Shack Band's previous travels have taken them to some of the most prestigious clubs in cities throughout the eastern half of the U.S.A. as well as renowned festivals including Floydfest, Domefest, and the Pink Moon Festival. They have also shared the stage with national acts including Moon Taxi, Perpetual Groove, The Machine, and Dangermuffin, among others. The Shack Band have established themselves as an in-demand live act noted for high energy performances. With influences ranging from
Dave Matthews and
Phish to Muddy Waters and Bob Marley, The Shack Band's music brims with life, fueled by the passion and talent of the members. "The driving force behind our making music is to produce something that I will be proud to share in forty years and something that people will still feel connected to years down the line," notes saxophonist Josh Crowley.
The Shack Band lineup is comprised of Andrew Gillespie on keyboards and vocals; Hunter Pease on guitar, harmonica and lead vocals; Josh Crowley on sax and flute;
Mason Owen on bass and vocals; and
Bobby Hudson on drums. Their first recording was the EP "Born And Raised," with a sold-out CD release party in Richmond. Now two years later, The Shack Band is primed to release the full length CD "
America" recorded at the famous Engine Room Audio studio in New York City. Dan Millice, front man and lead guitarist for the band Hollapenos was the recording engineer and co-producer for "America." Additional recording was completed at the Richmond based Red Amp Audio. "
America" is slated for a late Summer release.
