NEW YORK (Columbia Records) - The release of ANNA NALICK's debut album WRECK OF THE DAY has been moved from October 26 to January 18 on Columbia Records. The new date accommodates changes in the marketing plan for the recently completed album. Meanwhile, look for ANNA to head out on the road for three weeks of October dates supporting Ari Hest throughout the mid-West and California coast.
Composed entirely by NALICK, WRECK OF THE DAY is a refreshing blend of sophisticated wordplay, haunting melodies, sublime textures and atmosphere from one of the new breed of singer-songwriters for this century. The 20-year-old California native's work signals the arrival of an unmistakable new voice in pop music, full of youthful exuberance and provocative reflection.
WRECK OF THE day was produced by
Christopher Thorn and Brad Smith (founding members of
Blind Melon), with Eric Rosse (best known for his production work with Tori Amos). An all-star group of musicians appear on the CD including Smith on bass, Thorn on guitar, Rosse and Zak Rae (Alanis Morissette, Macy Gray, Sinead O Connor) on keyboards, Lyle Workman (Frank Black, Sheryl Crow, They Might Be Giants) and
Stuart Mathis (Jewel, Five For Fighting) on guitar, Joey Waronker (Beck, Johnny Cash,
Nelly Furtado) and Matt Chamberlain (Tori Amos, Fiona Apple,
David Bowie, John Mayer) on drums.
