Kansas City based rock band Velvet Freeze signs five record deal with independent record label, Enneagram Records

KANSAS CITY, MO (Ennergram Records) - Kansas City, MO rock band Velvet Freeze has signed a five record deal with Independent record label, Enneagram Records, who plan to release two prior Velvet Freeze CD's, "Nectarine" and "Wearwithal" to a national audience in 2005. Band lineup includes Joshua Shelton (vocals / guitars), Stephanie Shelton (bass / backup vocals), and Dave Handley (drums & cymbals).

Velvet Freeze's first full length CD, "Nectarine" was produced by Enneagram Records' CEO, Max Berry. "Max comes from a very musically diverse background and is a great asset to a band such as ours, who mix many different genres of music and explore multiple sonic realms" according to vocalist Joshua Shelton. "Nectarine" was self-released (1999) as were "Live in the Key of D" (2002) and the Steve Phillips (Big Time Music) / Velvet Freeze produced, "Wearwithal" (2003), which will undergo a re-mix / re-mastering before re-release. According to Joshua, "Now that we don't have to sweat each passing hour in the studio so much, we are going to put some touches on the album we weren't in a position to a year ago."
Songs from "Wearwithal" were spun on 83 College and Public radio stations as part of a 5 week promotion in November, 2003. Some stations added all ten tracks from the album to rotation and continue to spin singles such as "Wasted Over You". The album has earned praise notably from Corey Taylor (SlipKnot / Stone Sour) who said, "Keep it up. You are one of the few bands doing anything worth a sh*t."

Max Berry has worked with artists such as Bloodstone, Max Groove, Jaisson Taylor, and Tom Hall among others, whose styles vary drastically from one another. Enneagram Records offers a diverse roster of songwriters and performers and is based out of the state of the art Berry Music Group recording facility.
