NEW YORK (TVT Records) - With his debut album "M.I.A.M.I" recently hitting No 14 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, Miami-based Latin MC Pitbull is set to perform on the MTV Latin America Video Awards on Thursday, October 21st. U.S. viewers can catch the Awards live on MTV2, and then re-broadcast on MTV U.S. on Saturday, October 30th at 11:00p.m. PT/ET. Having made a name for himself with his breakthrough single "Culo" (which reached No 7 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart), Pitbull will take part in a highly-anticipated collaboration with a major surprise guest.

Pitbull released his debut album "M.I.A.M.I.: Money Is A Major Issue", on New York-based independent label TVT Records this past August. The album was produced by The Diaz Brothers and by super producer/artist Lil Jon. It features heavyweight guests such as Lil Jon, Trick Daddy, Fat Joe, and others. The 23 year-old Cuban- American rapper's infectious sound combines hip-hop, crunk, reggae, reggeton, and dance-hall, with English and Spanish lyrics. In what seems like a short while, Pitbull has quickly become one of the most buzzworthy hip-hop acts in the country and an MTV favorite.

But it isn't only MTV's events where Pitbull is making his mark. This summer he also participated in Russell Simmon's Latin Hip-Hop Summit in New York, the BET Awards in Los Angeles, the Funkmaster Flex Celebrity Car Show in Miami, and even a Burger King commercial with John Leguizamo. Pitbull is also featured on the Daddy Yankee remix of "Gasolina", the original version of which recently peaked at No 8 on the Latin Tropical Airplay Billboard chart.

Only a few weeks after his debut album hit the streets, Pitbull has been taking a bite out of Billboard Magazine's charts, topping the Top Independent Albums, Top R&B/ Hip-Hop Albums, Hot Rap Tracks, and the MTV Video Monitor charts. Pitbull is the highest-charting Latino rapper since Fat Joe back in 1998. Pitbull will continue touring and making appearances at major events throughout the year.
