New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On Saturday 22nd November, the
Institute of Contemporary
Music Performance will hold its annual Graduation event at the Mermaid Theatre, Blackfriars, London.
The event will see
Institute students to celebrate the completion of their studies and receive certificates, with some individuals being presented with special awards for particular recognition.
The Mermaid Theatre, which is now also a conference centre, has been used on several occasions by the BBC Concert Orchestra, showcasing musicians such as Nigel Kennedy, Josh Groban, Crowded House, Richard Ashcroft, The
Beach Boys and the
Pet Shop Boys with special guests including Robbie Williams.
Alongside the giving of awards, the day will feature acoustic performances from a selection of student artists, including Natasha North, who recently signed to LAB Records, released her third EP 'Fire' and played a sold out Royal Albert Hall supporting Patrick Bruel. Natasha will also receive the award for Best Overall on the BA Songwriting course.
Following an opening performance from the Institute's vocal ensemble L.I.V.E, Brian Message, a partner in Courtyard Management and founding shareholder of ATC will give a Keynote speech to students and guests. The Ceremony will be led by compere, Phil Clifton, a TV and Sony nominated radio presenter, who appears on MTV, Xfm, BBC and Channel 4, who commented: "I'm really excited to be involved with the
Institute Graduation this year. It's a fantastic institution which has helped produce some amazing talent and stars, I'm looking forward to meeting the future ones on the big day!"
This year the ceremony will utilise The Mermaid's show-stopping 'stage reveal' to present a live performance from it's fabulous Scholarship Band - comprising Scholarship Award winners from the Higher Diploma 2013-2014.
