New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Brazilian duo Chemical Surf and Kittball Records co-founder, and renowned DJ/producer
Juliet Sikora have teamed up to manufacture their latest EP 'What Matters'. This undertaking is the brainchild of two seriously resourceful acts that together offer skill, experience and talent galore.
'What Matters' is a two-track, Deep meets Tech-House mission comprised of: 'What's That' and 'No Matter'. The lead track 'What's That' fashions an impactful opening for the EP. The production trio offer an arrangement of straight, up-beat drums, funky guitar patterns, and subtle electronic decorations that generate an idyllic surrounding to the imposing deep and punchy bass groove commanding the surrounding elements. Fronted by a sensual, smooth voice, which glues everything together - 'What's That' is a seriously cool and collected production that's rocking a familiar vocal that's already doing the rounds on the underground. Showing off technical skill of Chemical Surf and
Juliet Sikora - this is a shadowy and elevating production that's got impact track etched all-over it.
'No Matter' is much more of an in-your-face, no-nonsense party-igniter. The groove is hardened, the low-end intensified and the vocals are roughened. The production features a substantial, rhythmic bass section, driving the low-end of the whole track. The drums are a solid statement throughout the song and control the clock impeccably for the surrounding layers. The function of the vocals is essential in this production. They offer a melodic element whilst aiding the rhythmic components, breathing extra life into the drums. The vocals offer an alternative layer of groove and cut through the former components with multifaceted structures and harmonic rendezvous.
