NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - RCA recording artists the Strokes, one of the most buzzed about bands to come along in quite some time, have pulled a track from its forthcoming debut, Is This It?, in light of the recent terrorist attacks on America.

The track, "New York City Cops," features the chorus "New York City cops, New York City cops, New York City cops, They ain't too smart." According to a spokesperson for the band at Big Hassle Media, the band, natives of New York City, did not want any derogatory effects to come from the song, despite it being a 3rd-person narrative.

To accommodate the change, a track called "When It Started" will replace "New York City Cops" and the release date of the album, originally scheduled for Sept. 25, has been pushed back to Oct. 9.

In other song adjustment news, Jimmy Eat World has reportedly changed the name of its current single, "Bleed American," to simply "Bleed," according to the BBC. Calls were not returned by press time inquiring as to whether or not future pressings of the band's latest effort, also titled Bleed American, would be affected.
