LOS ANGELES (Dave Matthews Band Fans Website) - The Dave Matthews Band said it wants to make amends after one of its tour bus drivers was accused of dumping human waste on sightseers on the Chicago River. But the band stopped short of accepting responsibility for the Aug. 8 incident that left more than 100 tour boat passengers doused with raw sewage. A driver for the band allegedly emptied a septic tank while a tour bus was crossing a bridge. According to the band, he's been suspended. The band also said it is donating $100,000 to both the Chicago Park District and a nonprofit group that protects the Chicago River. A spokesman for the attorney general's office said the pledge won't affect a lawsuit accusing the band and driver of violating state water pollution and public nuisance laws.
