NASHVILLE, TN. (Universal Motown Records Group) - You'd think after writing six No 1 hit singles and selling over 12 million records you'd take a little time off to relax, but not 3 Doors Down. After coming off one of the most successful rock tours this summer - the band has headed back into the studio to record their third album tentatively titled 17 Days.
Currently recording in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Johnny K (Finger 11, Disturbed), the new CD is scheduled for release February 8, 2005 and will include new songs "It's Not Me," "Landing in London," "Let Me Go," "The Light Inside" and more.

Written in a much shorter window of time with more intensity and closeness then their previous recordings, this album shows growth and maturity in both musicianship and songwriting. It's more of an album than a collection of songs, a cohesive flow of energy from a band that has known each other since childhood and has worked to strengthen those bonds, while bringing each other's individual and unique perspectives into the mix.

Once labeled a one hit wonder, after releasing their debut album The Better Life in 2000- 3 Doors Down went on to prove the skeptics wrong in November 2002 with the release of their sophomore album Away from The Sun. That album sold over 3 million copies and included two hit singles including the No 1 most played song of that year "When I'm Gone" and the No 1 ballad of this year "Here Without You." It was the success of "Here Without You" that drove album sales back up the Soundscan Chart from No 83 to No 10 - a year after the album came out and kept Away from The Sun on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart for almost two years!
The band has gone on to win award after award from American Music Awards to BMI Songwriting Awards, from 4 Grammy nominations to Billboard and MTV Awards along with various humanitarian awards for their work with The Better Life Foundation.

During the past 22 months touring- 3 Doors Down went from playing 1000 seat venues to performing to 13,000-17,000 people a night. The final leg of their recent Summer 2004 tour was one of the four most successful tours of the year- during a season that saw tour after tour shut down before it got started!

In the midst of all of this-they are making a movie with Alex Gibney, who produced the highly acclaimed film Lightning In A Bottle (in theatres this week) and won the Grammy this year for "The Martin Scorsese Blue's Series," and Ondi Timoner, who won the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for the now renown movie Dig!
The film will be a live performance/behind the scenes documented movie shot over a 12 month period with plans for release in late 2005.
