Kidz Bop Christmas goes Gold

LOS ANGELES (Razor & Tie) - Razor & Tie announces that Kidz Bop Christmas, an album of kid-friendly holiday favorites from the best-selling children's music series in the country, was certified gold today with shipments in excess of 500,000. Previous Kidz Bop titles, Kidz Bop, Kidz Bop 2, Kidz Bop 3 and Kidz Bop 4 have all been certified gold as well.

Kidz Bop Christmas features favorite holiday songs such as "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," "Jingle Bell Rock," "Rudolf, The Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Frosty The Snowman" and others. Kidz Bop Christmas was originally released in October 2002 and peaked at No 66 on the Top 200 in its first year of release. It has been a fixture near the top of Billboard's Seasonal album chart since its release.

Adding to the Kidz Bop success story, there are also two Kidz Bop titles currently on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Kidz Bop Halloween is at No 132 and Kidz Bop 6 is at No 176. Razor & Tie plan two more releases for the first quarter of 2005, Kidz Bop 7 and Los Kidz Bop, the first release in the series created specifically for the US Spanish-speaking audience.

Since their introduction in 2001, Kidz Bop titles have sold over 4 million copies and have become the best known brand in children's music. In fact, Kidz Bop was the #1 children's audio brand of 2002 and 2003 and will likely hold that position again for 2004.

Razor & Tie is expanding its children's entertainment division and recently entered in to an exclusive deal with children's music star Laurie Berkner for her award winning children's audio releases.
