LOS ANGELES (Movemakers Ent./ www.movemakersent.com) - The Grass Roots Road Trip arrives in Beverly Hills at The Hard Rock Cafe on Saturday, November 20 at 9PM. The tour is an introduction to Andre 'Dre' Allen's debut CD, entitled L.Y.F.E., and will feature a performance by pop vocalist Dawn Robinson (formerly of EnVogue and Lucy Pearl).

The tour originally kicked into high gear in September with a Las Vegas, NV performance at The Boston. Janet Jackson hosted the concert in honor of her father Joseph. The opening night also featured guest performer Slim Kid TrT of The Pharcyde.

L.Y.F.E. is the premiere release on the couple's independent label, MoveMakers Entertainment and Tommy Boy Records. Each having disparaging music careers on major labels, the two founded MoveMakers as a culmination of everything positive. Allen, formerly on MCA Records in 1995 as a member of IV Xample, and Robinson, having Grammy-winning success have chosen to remain independent for the very reasons many artists do to date. He has since collaborated with such chart toppers as Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, Master P and Lil' Romeo.

'Fly', featuring Dawn, is the first single release from the album. 'It's about helping the spirit when all seems lost, mundane or hopeless. It truly inspires you to find your niche and focus on your dreams no matter how far they may seem', says Allen, an alternative soul singer.

Dawn, too, is no virgin to alternative music. Following her success with EnVogue, she has gone on to release a self-entitled album in 2002 and will head back into the studio upon the tours completion.

'Even after 'Free Your Mind', I find it's still hard for my fans to see me doing more rock influenced music, but it is a different element. I must admit… I love it.'

The album consists of instrumental and acoustic guitar arrangements comparable to Lenny Kravitz, Coldplay and Seal. Guest appearances and productions include Sheila E., London Jones (Macy Gray) and Gen Rubin (Paulina Rubio/Mary J. Blige) to name a few.

Now taking full control of their fate as soloists Dre Allen and Dawn Robinson take a 'grassroots' approach to The Dre Allen Project as select songs play on various pop, rock, & alternative stations. Tour appearances throughout the US and Canada have included dates in Denver, New York City and Chicago. Updated tour information is available at www.dreallenproject.com and the label's official website at www.movemakersent.com!
