NASHVILLE, TN. (Webster PR) - Chely Wright who has caught the attention of fans, radio and television both internationally and nationally with her current single 'Bumper of MY SUV,' is enjoying extraordinary attention. She has been invited to act as co-marshal in the Veteran's Day Parade in New York City tomorrow.
Chely will ride along side Major General Richard S. Colt - Commanding General, 77th Regional Readiness Command - to lead the parade which will include over 20,000 participants featuring floats, bands, and horse cavalries. More than 20 members of the 77th Regional Readiness Command will follow co-Marshals Wright and Colt to demonstrate their support of the soldiers who currently fight in the War on Terrorism and to honor all veterans. The parade will begin at 11:00AM Eastern time and will be televised on various networks.

This special invitation comes upon Chely's return from the Middle East after her personal visit with the troops. Chely performed in six different shows in Kuwait and Iraq. She debuted her current single 'Bumper of My SUV' for the very first time in front of thousands of military persons. After receiving poignant and impassioned pleas from the troops to record it for them, Chely kept her promise and delivered the recording to the Armed Forces Network.
Today, somehow, the song has made an unscheduled and unplanned appearance on US radio stations. Stations across the country are playing the single to meet explosive listener demand. Wright's 'Bumper of My SUV' has recently appeared the charts – entering at No. 54 on Billboard and No. 51 on R&R. '...SUV' has already garnered impressive pre-sale orders (via Chely's web site). In just five days, over 1,200 units have been sold and her web page has had more than 470,000 hits over the last week.

'I have been touring overseas in support of our troops since the beginning of my career. I recorded the song for the troops as part of my continued commitment to them and my intention was really to meet and respond to their request. It was recorded as a personal gesture, not as a commercial product. This is an unexpected surprise. I am thrilled it made it from Nashville to Baghdad and back to the states and I'm pleased this song has touched so many,' says Wright.

In light of the reaction and demand, Wright will donate half of the proceeds from the sale of the single to Stars for Stripes, a non-profit organization that provides entertainment to deployed U.S. troops in remote areas. The organization recently sponsored a trip for Wright and her band to Iraq and Kuwait where she first performed 'Bumper of My SUV.'

Chely came back from the Middle East with a reality story of her own to share and her memoirs have caught the attention of National Media outlets.
Revealing her personal and impassioned account of her visit with the troops, Chely will appear on the O'Reilly Show this Friday evening, November 12, and is scheduled to visit with Deborah Norville (Deborah Norville Tonight) on Monday evening, November 15, on MSNBC. (Check local listings for air time.)

Chely recently performed at two Marine Corps Balls (in Kansas City and San Diego) this past weekend and in December, Chely will perform at the 'Just a Phone Call Away' benefit concert in Waikiki Beach, Hawaii. The concert is a benefit for troops in Iraq and their families.
