Musician Matt Goss And Susan G. Komen Join Forces To Honor Everyone Who Has Faced Breast Cancer
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer-songwriter Matt Goss has joined forces with Susan G. Komen to honor his mother and those facing breast cancer everywhere, while raising funds and awareness for Komen's mission to end breast cancer.

Inspired by his mother's strength as she fought and eventually lost her battle with cancer, Goss wrote and recorded a song, "Strong." Beginning May 8, 2015, fans and anyone wishing to make an impact in the lives of those facing breast cancer can receive a download of "Strong" by making a donation to Komen at komen.org/mattgoss.

Komen and Goss have also created a music video for "Strong" to honor those affected by the disease, featuring breast cancer survivors and celebrities who have lent their passion and support to further Komen's mission. Watch the video and follow the conversation using #STRONG and #WhatGivesMeStrength.

"This Mother's Day I am so honored to begin my partnership with Susan G. Komen as we share our strength for all those battling this terrible disease," said Goss. "I lost my mother to cancer last year, and it was her strength, as she never gave up, that truly inspired me to be strong and to do everything in my power to help prevent others from going through this. As a son, my mother would be so proud that they are using my song 'Strong' as the official anthem for Komen."

This Mother's Day Weekend, Goss will perform "Strong" at the annual Komen Washington D.C. Race for the Cure (May 9) and on the famous steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art during the 25th annual Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure (May 10).

"Breast cancer touches our lives in a way that nothing else can," said Komen President and CEO Dr. Judy Salerno. "I am inspired each day by the strength and courage of those facing breast cancer and the loved ones who support them throughout their journey. Matt's song, video and passion for others embody the spirit of our organization, and remind us why we cannot stop until we have ended this disease."

Goss will also be a featured entertainer at this year's Honoring the Promise gala, held on September 24, 2015, at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Funds raised at Honoring the Promise will help fund breast cancer research and programs that support those facing breast cancer in the National Capital Region.
