New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Pop-folk band, Only On
Tuesdays has released their powerful introspective EP, Break Free, captivating new and old fans alike. Break Free, now available on iTunes, delivers appeasing instrumentation that shines vividly in a heartbroken and enlightened lyrical landscape. With a musical style as unique as the members themselves, Only On
Tuesdays draw from a myriad of influences such as pop, indie, folk and rock to form their own brand of pop-folk.
Autumn Skibinski, front woman of the band, drew inspiration for the title-track from her personal experiences with overcoming depression, which culminated into a consoling song about overcoming obstacles. The vocals beautifully lay over a collage of harmonious guitars and electric bass. The succeeding track, "Fall", is a melodic tune filled with ornate consonance that sets the tone as a candy-coated slice of pure acoustic-pop perfection. While the song is finely tuned, it maintains a relaxed feeling with Skibinski's sweet and breathy vocals. Piquing curiosity at just the right moment, the band shakes things up with the rocking track, "
Rendezvous". This song features surprisingly heavy electric guitars backing Skibinski as she conveys a feisty frustration to a precarious lover. "
Tides" captivates you from start to finish with the innate instrumentation and the passionate lyrics that resonate. The EP culminates with "Darling Dearest", a soothing and folk-influenced tune draped in up-tempo ukulele strumming. In this EP, Only On
Tuesdays successfully builds a connection with the universal themes they address in the flowering and green imagery of the lyrics, supported by beautiful instrumentation.
Singer-songwriter Autumn Skibinski initially began Only On
Tuesdays as a solo act in her hometown of Eagle River, Wisconsin. After two years of touring and playing throughout the midwest and south, she decided it was time to take her talents out west to fully realize her musical vision. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Skibinski acquired many talented musicians to complete Only On Tuesdays.
Martin Valencia plays the drums, Tracy Lambertucci and Gabbs Casanova play electric guitar and contribute backing vocals, and
Kevin Lambertucci rounds out the rhythm section on bass. Only On
Tuesdays has graced the stages of popular Los Angeles venues such as The Roxy, The Viper Room and The House of Blues, and has also played a stop on the 2010 AP Tour.
Break Free is an absolute breath of fresh air with their organic and acoustic approach to pop and their encouraging themes of growth and thriving in the face of adversity. You can be sure to expect more of their pure and polished sound in the future. To follow Only On
