NEW YORK (Lava Records) - O.A.R. lead singer MARC ROBERGE recently married Nasim--his best friend since high school - in a Jewish/Persian wedding ceremony in Washington, DC. The newlyweds returned from their South African honeymoon to find out O.A.R. have already sold out five nights of their fall concert tour, including two nights at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom, where they recorded 34TH & 8TH, the double live CD released earlier this year on their own Everfine Records. Building on this momentum, the hard-working quintet have announced two special shows at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC December 29 and 30.

Excited by the early Hammerstein sell-outs, saxophonist JERRY DePIZZO said: "These annual Hammerstein concerts are the biggest shows of the year for us, the culmination of an entire year of touring and recording. Fans should definitely expect the expected and the unexpected."

The multi-instrumentalist went on to disclose news about O.A.R.'s forthcoming Lava/Everfine studio album: "We have been locked away at NYC's SIR this past week working on material for the new record due out sometime this late spring/early summer. We hardly saw the light of day and were nourished only by bad Japanese take-out and hotel mini bars. $5 Kit-Kat's taste no better than regular ones."
He added that the group's "been working fairly quickly, finishing about a song a day. We feel very confident about the direction and quality of the new songs and are eager to get back out on the road to test some of them in a few days."
O.A.R. will reconvene this winter to write and record additional songs for the new release.
