New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Acclaimed singer-songwriter James Harker is set to release his new album The Ebb and Flow on September 7th 2015. It will mark his first solo release since the 2013 EP Anecdote.
Previous Harker music has been described as "gorgeous, soaring orchestral pop" by Music For Ants, and "spellbinding and enriching" by Fatea Magazine, amongst other accolades. Building upon his already rich foundations in English, Celtic and American folk, along with indie pop hooks and orchestral arrangements, The Ebb and Flow sees Harker taking his craft leaps further. Echoes of Bon Iver, Nick Drake, Sufjan Stevens, and Olafur Arnalds ricochet through the album, but Harker's own voice is so strong that The Ebb and Flow tells its own story.
Collaborating with electronic producer Vast in London, the album was produced at home, and over cyberspace. The album features virtuosic fiddle performances from BBC 2 Folk Musician of the Year Sam Sweeney from Bellowhead, Ebenezer guitarist Chris Donald, as well as guitar and percussion performances from international composer/producer David Lawrie, recorded 6000 miles away in California. The album will be available on iTunes, Bandcamp and other digital outlets
