The "Hearts & Minds" tour includes a stop in Los Angeles for a show at The Viper Room on August 12 and continues on for two performances in the group's hometown of Seattle on August 16. The origins of LOTUS CRUSH go back to 2006 when Scotland-born rock singer, songwriter, musician Terry McDermott was fronting the band Driveblind, who was on the road alongside multi-platinum alternative rockers Candlebox. Terry formed a close friendship with
Candlebox guitarist
Peter Klett and following the disbandment of Driveblind, the two began making music together. The result was 2011's full-length Half Light Morning.
Following the release of Half Light Morning, Klett returned to his
Candlebox duties while McDermott competed on season 3 of NBC's hit singing competition "The Voice," where he came in second. In 2014, the opportunity arose to get back to work and they did just that at the iconic Robert Lang Studios in Washington withproducer Todd Burman. Their album Rabbit Hole first premiered on Yahoo! Music/RollingStone.com before its official release April 14, 2015 on CaviGold Records. The band lineup is completed with rhythm guitarist/vocalist Island Stylesand bass guitarist Mark Mattrey, with drummer Ehssan Karimi joining for this tour run.
Entertainment Weekly premiered the music video for the album's first single "Hearts & Minds" starring actor C.
Thomas Howell (The Outsiders) and dubbed it a "surprisingly intense military mini-drama." (1/27). Check out the video now here.
To coincide with the tour, in the coming weeks LOTUS CRUSH will release a performance video for the album's lead track "Death From Above." The group will also team up once again with C.
Thomas Howell; this time as he takes the helm asvideo director to shoot the official music video for their forthcoming single "All The Same." More details on the video releases will be announced shortly.
