New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Reservoir is pleased to announce the signing of British artist and songwriter, Lucy Rose, to an exclusive worldwide publishing deal through its Reverb
Music office in London. The deal is the first to be helmed by Reverb
Music Head of Creative Charlie Pinder, and involves Rose's top-ten UK album, Work It Out, and future titles.
Released the first week of July, Work It Out entered the UK Albums chart at #9, fueled by the popular singles "Our Eyes" and "
Like An Arrow". Both cuts, like many from the album, exhibit a range of influences, from hip-hop to folk. Work It Out is Rose's second full-length release with label Sony Music/Columbia Records UK. The first, 2012's Like I Used To, saw a top 20 peak in the UK and offered the successful singles "Middle of the Bed" and "
Shiver".
Pinder, whose tenure included roles as Managing
Director at Sony/ATV and Founder &
Director of Riot Act Management before his 2014 appointment at Reverb, first met Rose when she was working as a promoter at a small acoustic night in London. Becoming acquainted through their mutual contacts, Pinder watched Rose develop for years before bringing her to Reverb.
Pinder comments about the signing, "I couldn't believe that Lucy wasn't signed to a publisher, because in Work It Out she's made a stunning, unique album. I don't think everyone realizes-yet-how good she really is. It's an absolute privilege to be her publisher."
Rose says about working with Pinder and the Reservoir/Reverb
Music team, "I wanted to work with a great proactive team where there's a personal relationship, and Reverb fit that bill perfectly. I was really impressed with [Reverb
Music Managing Director] Annette Barrett when I met her, and I have great respect for Charlie-he's the only publisher I've met who will be there with you after the show discussing the sound of the snare drum!"
The signing of
Lucy Rose comes at a busy time for Reservoir and Reverb, whose recent global successes include charting cuts by songwriters including Jamie Hartman (James Bay,
Marlon Roudette),
Ina Wroldsen (Calvin Harris, Jess Glynne), and
Major Lazer collaborator MØ.
