St. Regis Hotels & Resorts Introduces Jamie Cullum As Its Newest St. Regis Connoisseur
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts (NYSE:HOT), today announced Jamie Cullum, the award-winning jazz-pop singer-songwriter, as its newest St. Regis Connoisseur. In his role as brand ambassador, Cullum will continue to lead the much buzzed about Jazz Legends at St. Regis series, which to date has brought intimate yet electric jazz performances to New York, Washington, DC, Istanbul, San Francisco, Mexico City and Bangkok. Launching January 2016, the celebrated artist has lent his ear to curate jazz music for the public spaces of all St. Regis hotels and resorts globally. In addition, Cullum masterfully compiled his favorite tunes, capturing a variety of moods, for a playlist which will be available on www.stregis.com/jazz this month.

"As both a songwriter and performer, Jamie Cullum simultaneously pays homage to jazz legends while offering a modern twist, bringing the genre to life for a new generation. This playful spirit is what we aim to capture at each and every St. Regis around the globe—traditional elegance through the lens of modern luxury," said Jim Petrus, Global Brand Leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. "Jazz is an innate part of the St. Regis legacy, and with performances scheduled around the world, we are thrilled to work with today's jazz legend as we introduce Jamie as our newest St. Regis Connoisseur."

"Jazz is woven into the fabric of our culture, ever evolving throughout history: respecting tradition, but also reinterpreting it," said Jamie Cullum. "I am honored to work with St. Regis Hotels & Resorts to evolve their soundtrack, following in the footsteps of some of the finest musicians of all time who performed at the original St. Regis on 55th and Fifth."

Throughout the Jazz Age, the Rooftop Ballroom at the iconic St. Regis New York played host to some of the most renowned jazz musicians with unforgettable performances from greats like Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Buddy Rich. This rich musical legacy makes jazz the soundtrack of the St. Regis brand even today.

The St. Regis brand's partnership with Jamie Cullum, whose music has earned him worldwide recognition as the most successful UK jazz artist in history, began in December 2014 when he chose to launch his album Interlude in the U.S. with an exclusive performance at The St. Regis New York. Cullum went on to headline the grand opening of The St. Regis Istanbul as well as launch the Jazz Legends at St. Regis series with a performance at The St. Regis Washington, D.C. this past April. As a genuine brand enthusiast, Cullum calls St. Regis his home away from home when he travels and performs around the globe.

St. Regis has taken special care to partner with ambassadors who share the brand's commitment to excellence and speak to the passions of its guests, while offering an authentic connection to the St. Regis legacy. Together with Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig from Marchesa, and celebrated polo player Nacho Figueras, this elite group of ambassadors further establishes St. Regis as an authority in the arts, style and design, philanthropy, as well as speed and sport - all passions of the St. Regis brand's global clientele.

British-born Jamie Cullum's love of music was cemented after he discovered jazz as a teenager through artists like Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis. After studying English and Film at college, he channeled his passion for music into a career as a singer and pianist. Carving his own path in the music industry, Cullum made his mark through his ability to blur genres with a unique sound born from jazz, pop and rock. His special sound has translated into multi-platinum sales and global success with awards and nominations around world.
