InterHarmony Presents Alfred Brendel, Vadim Repin, Bruno Canino, Jean-bernard Pommier, Misha Quint And Boris Kuschnir For Outstanding Artist Series
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "[Vadim Repin is] simply the best and most perfect violinist that I have ever had the chance to hear." - Yehudi Menuhin

InterHarmony International Music Festival is pleased to announce the Outstanding Guest Artist Series and Outstanding Master Class Series for its summer festivals in Italy and Germany in 2016. MORE INFO.

Regularly cited as one of the instrument's greatest practitioners, Alfred Brendel will join the InterHarmony® International Music Festival in Arcidosso during the second session to deliver a lecture on "Beethoven's Last Sonatas". Time and again, Brendel's talks have shown him to be one of the most insightful and eloquent interpreters of the Classical tradition, at the piano and behind the lectern.

Alfred Brendel enjoys a reputation unequaled among living pianists. Despite his improbable, largely self-taught beginnings in a non-musical family, he began concertizing at 17. After a breakthrough program of Beethoven brought him international recognition, he embarked on a recording and performance career which would reinvent the Austro-Hungarian tradition for modern audiences. He has been recognized with honorary doctorates from Cambridge, Oxford and Yale, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Awards of Edison, MIDEM Classical Awards, the Deutscher Schallplattenpreis and Gramophone Magazine.

It is with great pride that InterHarmony® International Music Festival welcomes returning Outstanding Guest Artist, Vadim Repin. At IIMF's first session in Arcidosso, Italy, students will have the opportunity to play for - and with - the master. Repin first came to fame when he won the Gold medal for all age groups in the Wienawski Competition - at the age of eleven. Since then, he has performed all over the globe under the baton of such luminaries as Ashkenazy, Boulez, Dohnanyi, Levine, Mehta, and Thielemann. His many critically acclaimed albums include a recording of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff trios with Mischa Maisky and Lang Lang.

Violinists will have the chance to play for Repin, who is famous not only for his performances but also for his brilliant and entertaining master classes. Repin will take to the stage himself on July 10th, 2016 to perform Prokofiev's Second Violin Concerto with the InterHarmony® Festival Orchestra. This is a chance for students not only to listen a great musician play, but also to rehearse and perform with the man Yehudi Menuhin once called "simply the best and most perfect violinist that I have ever had the chance to hear." MORE INFO.

This summer, InterHarmony® International Music Festival joins forces once again with Outstanding Guest Artist Bruno Canino in Arcidosso, Italy. Canino is a towering figure in contemporary music, and a living legend in the Italian classical music scene, performing with artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Lynn Harrell, Viktoria Mullova and Pierre Boulez. The list of composers who have dedicated works to him is a veritable who's who of 20th century music, including Luciano Berio, Mauricio Kagel, Wolfgang Rihm and Iannis Xenakis.

Bruno Canino will open the second session in a trio concert featuring festival Founder Misha Quint (cello) and Andrzej Grabiec (violin). The program will include Rachmaninoff's Trio Elegiaque in g minor and Shostakovich's second Piano Trio. InterHarmony® students will then be invited to perform for and learn from this great artist in an open master class.

Pianist and conductor Jean-Bernard Pommier is one of France's most famous musical exports. InterHarmony® International Music Festival now welcomes him to our Outstanding Guest Artist Series, for sessions two and three of the summer of 2016. Pommier has been performing publicly since the age of seven. At seventeen, he was awarded First Honourable Mention at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow by a jury presided over by Emil Gilels. Since then, he has appeared with greatest names in classical music. As a soloist, he has performed under Herbert von Karajan, Pierre Boulez, Zubin Mehta and Daniel Barenboim; as a chamber musician, with Isaac Stern, Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, Leonard Rose, and the Guarneri and Vermeer Quartets; his engagements as a conductor are too numerous to count. A chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur, Pommier's recordings include the complete sonatas of Mozart (Virgin) and Beethoven (Erato; Diapason d'Or), as well as concerti by Mozart, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky. In recent years, he has given celebrated performances of the complete Beethoven sonatas in London, Brussels and, most recently, Paris.

Pommier will perform in both Arcidosso and Sulzbach-Rosenberg, as well as giving an open master class for advanced students. At the Sulzbach-Rosenberg International Music Festival, Music Director and Founder Misha Quint and Jean-Bernard Pommier will perform in a cello recital of "Almost French" music with works by Fauré, Franck, Bruch, Schnittke, and Debussy.

Join IIMF this summer for the inaugural season of our Outstanding Master Class Series, featuring Boris Kushnir. After studying with David Oistrakh at the Moscow Conservatory, Kushnir went on to become one of the world's foremost violin pedogogues, a modern-day Leopold Auer. His students include Julian Rachlin, Nikolai Znaider and Lidia Baich, along with more than 40 other laureates of national and international competitions. Kushnir has given master classes and served as a jury member at competitions across the globe, including the Tchaikovsky in Moscow, the Queen Elisabeth in Brussels, the Nicolò Paganini in Genoa, the Jacques Thibaud in Paris, the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, the Seoul International Music Competition and Eurovision. His own career as a soloist and chamber musician (as co-founder of the Moscow Quartet and now the Kopelman Quartet) has been equally illustrious. He performs on the "La Rouse-Boughton" Stradivarius (1703).

Russian-born cellist Misha Quint captivates his audiences with his lyricism, passion and dazzling technique. Quint is Founder and Music Director of the InterHarmony® International Music Festivals in Arcidosso, Tuscany, Italy, and Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Germany, and the InterHarmony® Concert Series at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Quint is featured on the Blue Griffin Label in the September 2014 release of his CD "Tempo Trapezio", and the Winter 2016 release of "Matryoshka Blues".

Quint will perform with Bruno Canino and Jean-Bernard Pommier in chamber music in the second session and a cello recital of "Almost French" cello and piano music with Jean-Bernard Pommier in InterHarmony's third session. MORE INFO.
