NEW YORK (Artemis Records) - Artemis Records has announced the signing of rock trio Better Than Ezra to an exclusive contract for North America. An album of all-new material, as of yet untitled, is slated for a spring 2005 release.

Artemis Chairman/CEO Danny Goldberg commented, "Better Than Ezra is one of the most talented artists we've signed since we started Artemis Records". On signing to Artemis, lead singer/songwriter Kevin Griffin stated, "We are very excited to work with two music industry legends, Danny Goldberg and Daniel Glass. In today's music industry, their commitment to artistic vision is exceptional".

Billboard Magazine recently described their music as containing "irrepressible hooks", while The New York Post stated that the band's music combines "lyrical irreverence, heart, imagination and catchy, warm pop melodies". People Magazine revered singer-songwriter Kevin Griffin as possessing "a soaring voice and a knack for inspirational-sounding choruses".

Formed in 1988 in New Orleans, Better Than Ezra began their career by playing college bars and fraternity houses at Louisiana State University. After independently releasing a cassette-only album in 1990 (SURPRISE) to great acclaim, the band went on to make their major label debut in 1995, DELUXE.
Fueled by the No 1 modern rock smash "Good", DELUXE earned platinum status.
In 1996 the band's follow-up record FRICTION BABY went gold and contained two Top Ten modern rock tracks. Better Than Ezra have released two subsequent albums - 1998's HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW? and 2001's CLOSER.

In addition to his role as lead singer and songwriter for Better Than Ezra, Kevin Griffin has recently begun writing and producing other artists. He has worked with artists ranging from Blondie to Howie Day.
His work with Howie Day includes the single "Perfect Time Of Day", which hit No 1 at Triple A radio and Top Ten at Hot AC and the current single, "Collide" (Top 15 at Hot AC and climbing). Kevin also co-wrote the biggest radio single of the year in Australia ("Scar") with Missy Higgins.
Better Than Ezra is Kevin Griffin (vocals, guitar), Tom Drummond (bass) and Travis McNabb (drums).
