NASHVILLE, TN. (Compadre Records) - Besides being some of the most successful songwriters and most recognizable names in Nashville, what do Tony Lane, Steve Bogard, Dana Hunt Black, Byron Hill and Mack Vickery have in common? For one thing, each songwriter has been an integral part of the career of George Strait, securing their spot on A Songwriters' Tribute to George Strait. Recently released on Compadre Records, the album celebrates "The Man" and the spirit of a song as the creator intended.

Tony Lane contributed "Run" to the platinum-selling The Road Less Traveled. Steve Bogard penned both Strait's "Carrying Your Love With Me" and "Carried Away." Dana Hunt Black told the story of grade school romance with "Check Yes Or No." Byron Hill's "Fool Hearted Memory" was a single on Strait's sophomore MCA release, Strait From the Heart in 1982. Mack Vickery's classic country staple, "The Fireman" on 1984's Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind, an album that took Album of the Year Awards from both the CMA and ACM also appears on the tribute.

Also appearing that evening is award-winning singer/songwriter Pat Alger, whose voice you won't hear on the album. Alger lent his seasoned expertise as the producer of A Songwriters' Tribute to George Strait.

No doubt these folks are all in good company, and you can be in their company on Monday evening, December 6th, as they all join together under one roof and on one stage at the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. Your host for the evening is none other than GAC Country Music Across America's own Storme Warren. (You can also see highlights from the performance later on Country Music Across America, which has become a fan favorite on GAC.)
In addition, we're excited to announce that XM Satellite Radio will be on hand to tape the performance, which will later air on XM Channel 11, Nashville.
