NEW YORK (Brooklyn Records) - Brooklyn Records will release Brooklyn The Musical, a one-of-a-kind live recording of the original cast album from the brand new Broadway musical, available December 13th, and distributed by Razor & Tie.
Featuring the tracks, "Once Upon a Time," "Heart Behind These Hands," and "Raven," the music from Brooklyn The Musical will ignite any music lover's ears (whether familiar with the production or not), with its rousing combination of gospel, rock and soul and a touch of the familiar show tune sound. In addition, this cast album captures the true spirit of the show with applause, hollers, and screams of "Encore!" making the listener feel as if they are in the front row of the audience.

Brooklyn The Musical, by Mark Schoenfeld & Barri McPherson is directed by Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun (Grease, The Will Rogers Follies, Big River) and arranged/orchestrated by music supervisor John McDaniel (Grammy Award winner for Annie Get Your Gun, Emmy Award winner for the "Rosie O'Donnell Show"). The musical opened on October 21st, 2004 at the Plymouth Theatre and has been entertaining audiences with a stellar cast list, featuring Tony award nominee Kevin Anderson (Taylor Collins), Tony award winner Cleavant Derricks (Streetsinger), Eden Espinosa (Brooklyn), Ramona Keller (Paradice) and Karen Olivo (Faith). The cast also includes Manoel Felciano, Caren Lyn Manuel, Julie Reiber, Horace V. Rogers and Haneefah Wood.

Grammy & Emmy award winner John McDaniel produced the cast album. He has previously produced the cast albums of Annie Get Your Gun (Grammy Award), Taboo as well as The Maury Yeston Songbook. He has recorded and produced three solo CD's: John McDaniel At the Piano: Broadway; Christmas and Compositions as well as John McDaniel: Live at Joe's Pub. John also conducted and arranged the Patti LuPone Live! concert recording for RCA/Victor.
