Montgomery Gentry and country hitmaker
Trace Adkins today announced tour plans for 2005. The boys will climb aboard their buses and hit the road for 20 dates beginning on Feb. 3 in Madison, WI. Hard core fans will enjoy the intimate general admission floor ticket where they can get up close and personal with their favorite performer. More sedate fans, if there are any, can find safe harbor in the reserved seating.
'Right there on the floor is where I always like to be – that's where the party really happens,' says Montgomery.
'Who knows we may end up down there with them, TURN IT UP, BRING IT ON!' adds Gentry.
'We're going to give the fans 110 percent at every show and we won't leave anything on the bus,' states Adkins.
Montgomery Gentry - rowdy, fun loving, spontaneous, and awesome talent all describe what these guys are about. Whether you meet them in person, hear their music on CD or see their live performance, the music and personalities are so infectious that you will instantly become a fan – or friend, as they like to call fans. Their recent and fourth Columbia Records release, YOU DO YOUR THING, has spawned numerous national TV bookings and their first No 1 single 'If You Ever Stop Loving Me.' The Lexington, Kentucky based duo stormed onto the country music scene in 1999 with their debut album, TATTOOS & SCARS and hit single 'Hillbilly Shoes.'
In 2000 they were awarded the American Music Award for Best New Country Artist, CMA Duo of the Year honors and ACM Top New Duo award. Follow up releases have included CARRYING ON, MY TOWN and currently YOU DO YOUR THING. Hit singles 'Daddy Won't Sell the Farm,' 'She Couldn't Change Me,' 'My Town,' 'Speed' and 'Hell Yeah' have initiated triple platinum sales.
Trace Adkins, a multi-platinum selling artist and Opry member, is a showman of the first rank and has developed a huge fan base all across the U.S. Adkins says performing his music is his passion and something he absolutely lives for. With his basement-deep baritone voice, Adkins exploded on the Country music scene in 1996 with his very first album selling more than a million copies.
Since then, he's sold millions more and has registered a string of hits including, 'Every Light In The House Is On,' '(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing,' 'Chrome,' 'I'm Tryin',' 'Hot Mama,' and his latest, 'Rough & Ready,' to name a few. Adkins' latest CD, Comin' On Strong, was certified Gold (500,000 units) soon after its release.
Just five months earlier, his Greatest Hits Collection, Vol. I, entered the country album charts at No 1 and was also Gold-certified just weeks of its release. Both projects are nearing Platinum status. A new studio album is scheduled for release in Spring 2005.
