PHILADELPHIA, PA. (AIRPORT CIRCLE ENTERTAINMENT/ www.airportcircle.com) - Airport Circle Entertainment, a full service entertainment company located in Pennsauken, New Jersey, will be holding a concert to benefit cleanup of last month's oil spill in the Delaware River and to assist in the rehab of affected animals. The benefit will take place on Tuesday, December 21st at 8:30 p.m. at Club 218, at 218 South Street in Philadelphia. Featured artists include: Shades of Gray, Kameelah Wakeed and Government Cheese, Prospect, and Jasofar, with more artists to be announced.
Admission to the benefit concert will be $10, payable at the door, and the proceeds will be donated to Tri-State Bird Research and Rescue, Inc., a non-profit organization located in Newark, Delaware, that has been dedicated to the rehab of injured, orphaned, and oiled birds since 1976.

Over 70 miles of shoreline along three states have been affected by last month's spill. Many birds, fish, and turtles have been injured or killed; the oil burns their skin and eyes and can break down the structure of the birds' feathers. The spill has threatened a dozen freshwater streams and tributaries and has spread to within three miles of drinking water intakes for Philadelphia and South Jersey.

Nik Salvo, Airport Circle Entertainment's CEO and a lifetime native of Pennsauken, New Jersey, visited the bank of the Delaware near the Betsy Ross Bridge on Sunday, December 5th. "I was standing at the water's edge and many of the leaves around me were not brown but black with thick, disgusting oil," he said. "I picked one up and it stuck to my finger. The oil is as thick as tar. I couldn't wipe it off of my hand. As I tried it only smeared all over my skin. I can't imagine what this must be doing to the wildlife. Holding this benefit is the least that Airport Circle can do to help out." Salvo plans to organize more benefit concerts following the concert at Club 218.
