The Raveonettes announce 2005 UK Tour and second album

LONDON, UK (SONY Music UK) - New York based Danish duo The Raveonettes, aka Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo this week announced details of their 2005 Jim Beam sponsored UK tour and follow up album to 2003's 'Chain Gang Of Love'.

Having spent the last 8 Months holed up in various New York studios, The Raveonettes are now ready to unleash their new sound on unsuspecting listeners. The band's next Columbia album, as yet untitled and set for release early next year, is virtually fuzz-free, with stunning results. Wagner's deep affection for early rock & roll and girl-group bop comes through bright and clear. So do his glass-sheet harmonies with vocalist and co-founder Sharin Foo.

On this record The Raveonettes have drafted in musical heroes such as Suicide's Martin Rev, the Velvet Underground's Maureen Tucker (who liked the band so much she turned up on her 60th Birthday to record 5 tracks) and on 'Ode To LA' Queen Ronette, Ronnie Spector. But where both The Raveonettes' 2002 EP Whip It On and their 2003 debut Chain Gang of Love were triumphs of uniform mood - black-rain guitars and taut programmed percussion, lined with modal vocal chrome - the new songs are a whirlwind of ravishing noir and vintage-pop echo.

There are changes in the live line up too with the addition of bassist Anders Christensen, freeing up Foo to concentrate on singing and playing additional guitar.
