Ben Watt Begins US Tour This Week, Pens Piece For The Talkhouse About All-Star Opening Acts Throughout The Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Following the release of his acclaimed new album Fever Dream, Ben Watt will embark on a US tour with collaborator and guitarist Bernard Butler (formerly of Suede). Watt will be joined by the Spacebomb rhythm section of Cameron Ralston and Pinson Chanselle, who have recently backed Matthew E. White and Natalie Prass.

On this tour, Watt has hand-picked his opening acts in select markets, curating an all-star list of support from artists like Zachary Cale, Gem Club, In Tall Buildings, Alan Sparhawk of Low, Matt Kivel, in/PLANES and Karl Blau. In advance of the tour, Watt has penned a piece for The Talkhouse about hand-selecting these artists and what he loves about them.

"Watt has worn many hats - producer, author, DJ, record company founder but these songs fit him like a glove." - The Associated Press

"An absolute triumph." - Pitchfork

"Heartbreakingly understated." - 9/10 Uncut

"Exquisitely measured." - 4/5, Mojo

"Watt achieves the impossible by bettering Hendra. This is heart-and-soul music, and you need to hear it." - Sunday Times of London

"In his early 50s, he is making some of the best music of his career." 4/5, The Guardian

Earlier this year, Watt released Fever Dream, the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed 2014 release Hendra, his first solo album in more than 30 years. The album renews key partnerships with Hendras vaunted guitarist-sideman Bernard Butler and engineer Bruno Ellingham, and sprinkles guest vocal cameos from Bostons dream-folk singer-songwriter Marissa Nadler and Hiss Golden Messengers M.C. Taylor.

The album is currently streaming via Pitchfork, who called the album "some of his finest work in years" and "an absolute triumph."
