NASHVILLE, TN. (Universal South Records) - Reports of the fire that cancelled the Keith Urban / Katrina Elam concert in Tucson on December 10 did not reveal the unusual circumstances in which Universal South recording artist Katrina Elam learned of the impending danger. Moments before she was to take the stage, it wasn't the venue or her road manager who alerted Katrina that the venue was on fire and to get out, it was her mom all the way back home in Bray, Oklahoma!

'I was on my bus getting ready to go onstage and I got a call from my mother in Oklahoma. She told me to get out because the Convention Center was on fire. I couldn't believe it. She said that a high school friend of mine was out front waiting to get in and was told about the fire,' explained Katrina.

Incredibly, the friend had called Katrina's mother in Oklahoma so she could alert Katrina of the fire that had started in another part of the building where filming for a new Stephen King movie was taking place.
'I couldn't believe it! I was literally a thousand miles away from home and my mother was still taking care of me!'

Thankfully, no one was seriously harmed in the fire and everyone, including Katrina got out safely.
