New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Acoustic Labs, formed by composer, producer and instrumentalist GC Johnson, is proud to announce the new album �Majestik� releasing digitally on August 12, 2016. This album is comprised of evocative, movielike music and soothing instrumental guitar sounds and exotic orchestra sounds meant to create a cinematic experience for the listener.
�Each track is meant to evoke a key, filmic scene, albeit an imaginary one, and I wanted to traverse a spectrum of film genres as the album progressed,� Johnson said. �For instance, in the track �Hallowed Be Thy Love� I was imagining a sequence about a pair of lovers whose connection is forbidden, and may eventually lead to their doom, so there�s emotions of closeness and tension throughout. In the track �Codex Transformata,� I had in mind a deep inner journey like the beautiful arch of discovery and breakthrough that characters like Will Hunting (GOOD WILL HUNTING) and Joy (INSIDE OUT) go through. These tracks are contained vignettes in that sense, in other words there are no repeating melodies, and I hope people will come across the emotions I find most memorable in film, which are discovery, intrigue, intensity, and most resonating for me, delight.�

Since 2009, the Acoustic Labs YouTube channel has had more than 7.5 million views and earned over 47,000 subscribers. Acoustic Labs� playing has been heard on the HBO show NEWSROOM and the Netflix programs SENSE 8, THIS IS CONGO, and BACK IN TIME, which was scored by Johnson. �One of the reasons my brand is called Acoustic Labs is because of the experimentation I do with common instruments using prepared techniques,� Johnson concluded. �I feel changing the sonic footprint of an instrument is valuable as it reinvents something familiar and that serves to keep an audience interested. It also constantly reinvents the instruments for me and keeps me inspired.�
