New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Aline is probably one of the most fascinating and unique contemporary artists. Born in Belgium and currently based in New York City, classically trained as a singer and actress, her life is like an open adventure book, where everything is possible. Her recent music video "SuperFreak," with music produced by Grammy award winner Scott Jacoby, got hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, and won an award for best music video. Aline shares a message of self-acceptance and free-expression. Scott Jacoby, who also produced John Legend, Pink, Vanessa Hudgens and Vampire Weekend, says: "Aline is a fearless, real artist, who has just the right amount of pop." In her new music video "Nothing To Lose," Aline talks about chasing dreams and never giving up.

"Equally proficient in piano and opera as she is in electro-pop, Aline's approach to music is unique, to say the least Some of the most kinetic and pulsating music in recent years" - San Diego Gay and Lesbian News.

Hi Aline! How did you start making music?
I always been that kid who would climb on tables and start singing and dancing. When I was 5 years old, Belgian singer Claude Barzotti, who is very famous in my home country, noticed me and asked my parents if I could sing in his shows. Because I was very young, they declined the offer. Then everywhere I would start singing people would compliment me. So the desire of becoming a professional singer grew in me. I was a big fan of French singer Edith Piaf and would sing her songs all the time. At age 13, I started to play the guitar and wrote my first songs. I was kind of a rebel teenager, and I performed in several rock bands, in Belgium and France. Then I started studying classical music and went to the Conservatoire Royal of Mons, in Belgium, where I studied piano, classical voice, composition, orchestration, and super nerdy things like how to write 16th century counterpoint, lol. I naturally ended up singing in several operas. The most fun one was "The Tales of Hoffmann" by Offenbach, where I was the mechanic doll Olympia. After moving to NYC, I decided to take a pop/dance direction.

You are a very unique individual who accomplishes a lot. How do you manage to do all the things you do?
I try not to think too much! Which is very hard, but I'm working on it every day. Just follow my heart and intuition. Make every moment count. I'm naturally very curious and hungry for knowledge and love trying new things. Once I'm tired of something, I go to something else, like a kid playing. But still trying to be consistent and continuous. Make my own methods. Measure the progresses. Go to the essence of things with an open mind. Not fall into pre-made boxes. Anything you learn from one thing can be useful for something else. Staying in the flow while keeping the main goals in mind. Try not to force things because if you really want something, it's actually already happening! All you need is trust the timing and be in the right energy to receive what you want. Seeking the best mentors to go further. Trust that your process is the one that works for you, even if it seems like you're the only one with that process. Being clear about what your desires are, and talking them out loud, to yourself and to anyone you encounter. You never know who you'll meet and who can help you or has the same kind of desires as you do.

What is your new song "Nothing To Lose" about?
It's about living the life you really want to the fullest at any moment. Believing in yourself even if everyone says you can't do it. Never giving up. It's a self-motivating song. If you know you can do it, then what you want is already happening. You're the only one who sees the big picture and who knows what's best for you. Look at the great things you have in you and make the most of it to be where you want to be. Wake up every morning hungry for life and fight for what you want.

Any upcoming projects?
I shot several independent movies this year as an actress. One is called "The Conduits," in which I'm a villain who chases a group of people for something precious they have and that I want, and I don't hesitate to kill whoever is in my way. Another movie is called "Les Feux Rouges" ("The red lights"), where I'm a French femme fatale who tricks rich men with my charms to get into their homes and then threatens them with a gun and steals their expensive paintings. I also did an audio play called "Poker Night," where I'm another femme fatale who's a professional Poker player and who falls in love with a married woman with kids, whose husband plays Poker as well. I also did an art movie as a dancer called "Salt Water" with a contemporary dance company, Abanar Inc.

What is your craziest dream?
I want to go in space and do a zero-gravity art-dance video!

Anybody you would want to work with?
Quentin Tarantino. Justin Timberlake. Muse. David Lachapelle. Patricia Petibon.

If you were an animal, which one would you be?
A panda. They're just so cute and amusing! Or a goat, they're really fun!

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview!
