Charity Concert Celebrating 50 Years Of Humanitarian Service Worldwide
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Tzu Chi Foundation) WHEN: Sunday, October 16, 7:00 PM

WHERE: David Geffen Hall
2016 is a special year for Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, as we mark a half-century of humanitarian service around the globe. In celebration, Tzu Chi New York is hosting a remarkable charity concert at the Lincoln Center in Manhattan on October 16.

The "Thousands of Helping Hands" 50th Anniversary charity concert will feature the astonishing artistry of the CHINA DISABLED PEOPLE'S PERFORMING ART TROUPE, recognized by the United Nations as a UNESCO Artist for Peace, and known internationally as "messengers of beauty and humanity". All the artists in the troupe are visually, hearing, or physically impaired, so the flawlessly synchronized dance movements they perform never cease to amaze the public, and their emotionally engaging gestures move the hearts of audiences everywhere.

The China Disabled People's Art Troupe, which has performed at the Paralympic Games, will bring their famous "My Dream" to the Lincoln Center stage. This extraordinary dance celebrates the omnipotent benevolence of the One-Thousand-Hands Bodhisattva Guan Yin, revered by Buddhists as the Goddess of Mercy who watches over the world and swiftly comes to the aid of those who suffer. The image of a plenitude of hands at the ready to help those in need is an apt reflection of Tzu Chi Foundation, which has over 10 million supporters and volunteers dedicated to humanitarian service worldwide. Tzu Chi's mission and values have guided its volunteers to the forefront of disaster relief and poverty reduction in more than 95 countries and regions over the past 50 years.

Tzu Chi volunteers will also take to the stage at the charity concert, with performances that aim to encourage eco-friendly living habits and respect for the earth, and showcase the timeless importance of perseverance and compassion. Please join us on this special occasion in support of Tzu Chi Foundation's ongoing humanitarian activities around the globe. We hope to inspire everyone to recognize the potential of selfless giving, and to join together as one family united in a common cause of illuminating our lives and the world with love.
