New York, NY (Top40 Charts) For acclaimed artists Suzanne Veronica and Michael Passaro, theyve built their entire 20-year career on their unique ability to transcend time and trends by delivering music that is honest, raw and full of emotion. Now, as they prepare to release what many are already calling their best album to-date on October 7, Veronica explains that a lot like what the number 7 represents in numerology, the CD is all about trying to undercover what is hidden.
Our intention was only to have a five song EP, though that was not the universes intention, said Veronica. While working on those five on guitar, I wrote the melody for 7 Tales of Wonder and went to Mike to play him what I had. With Mikes riffs and incredible emotion with his guitar playing, it just brought the song to a whole new level. I knew right then and there that this project was meant to be an album with seven songs and take on a whole new meaning. As you notice, the number 7 is everywhere: seven songs, our seventh CD, and seven visual signs on the cover.
To help add a different sound to this project than their previous six had, the duo invited Fran Smith, Jr. and
David Uosikkinen from The Hooters to appear on the album and asked Steve Butler of
Smash Palace to produce it.
On all our CDs, Suzanne always writes the melodies and lyrics while I played guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and mandolin on all the tracks, plus beside writing them we produced them ourselves, said Passaro. For the new record we decided to try a different approach by having other players perform and help produce the CD. We are so glad we did, it gave it a fuller, more textured sound that our fans are really going to enjoy.
