Melissa Etheridge Debuts At #1 On Billboard Blues Chart For 'MEmphis Rock And Soul'

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The numbers are in, and Melissa Etheridge's new Stax tribute record 'MEmphis Rock and Soul' has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues chart, as well as #9 on Billboard's Rock chart, and #12 on Top Current Albums. This is Melissa's first #1 on a Billboard Album Chart.

'MEmphis Rock and Soul' was released Friday, October 7 via Stax/Concord. It's earned praise from NPR, Entertainment Weekly, and Rolling Stone, who called the record "inspired" and "explosive." During release week, Melissa made appearances on the Today Show, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Live with Kelly, and Watch What Happens Live.
