NEW YORK (Netwwerk Records) - Critically acclaimed British songwriter and Mercury Prize nominee Tom McRae, kicks off 2005 with a month long residency on the East Coast beginning in February. Blender recently gave McRae's sophomore album, Just Like Blood, four stars and exclaim that the brooding singer "writes moody tunes with the incisiveness of
Radiohead or Coldplay." McRae spent most of 2004 based at Los Angeles' beautiful Paramour Estate where he began recording his third record due out in the
Spring of 2005. Tour dates with Dido, Rachael Yamagata,
Jamie Cullum and his own successful headlining tour of
Europe completed 2004 with a bang and 2005 proves to be just as exciting. Joining him for this residency is fellow Nettwerk managed artist and rising star, Susan Enan, from Belfast, Ireland.
Just Like Blood was recorded in London by producer Ben Hillier (Blur, Elbow.) The US album contains two live bonus tracks including "Streetlight" and "Walking 2 Hawaii", recorded last year at tastemaker station KCRW. Just Like Blood is a magnificent collection of moody heart felt songs, feature Tom's signature angelic vocals. The disc was included in Rolling Stone's Rob O'Conner's "Critics Top Ten List" for 2004, along with features, reviews and previews in countless publications.
