New York, NY (Top40 Charts) NO MATTER WHAT!'s latest release: "Pea" is a cover of the song originally written by the RHCP. As usual, a Spanish version: "CHÍCHARO" is also being released. The song has been given a new twist with its arrangement, differing quite a bit from the kick-ass original which features Flea's bass guitar and vocals. The full band energizes the song and frames the lyrics in a fresh way.
Mona Seda is known to have said that this is her favorite song she never wrote and she hopes to portray her love for the song in her performance.
Mike Basica's guitar ad-libs play a big part, they're like ear worms. Daniele DeCario recorded three different bass tracks that play simultaneously during the verse. Forrest Robinson lays down a fat beat while taking a Keith Moon approach to his drumming.
Hector Rivera holds it together with his rhythm guitar parts and background vocals.
Recording credits go to Mona Seda: Vocals & Trumpet;
Hector Rivera: Vocals & Rhythm Guitar; Forrest Robinson: Drums; Mike Basica: Guitar (Including Rhythm and Lead riffs); and Daniele DeCario: Bass.
The song was produced by
Hector Rivera & Mona Seda; and arranged by Hector, Mona, Mike, Forrest and Daniele. All tracks were recorded at Riverananda Studios in Los Angeles. Both versions of the song were mixed and mastered by composer/arranger Shawn Lyon at his studio in Los Angeles, California.
