Recording Artist, Mark Carson, Releases Debut Solo EP "Door Knockerz"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Some Hip-Hop artists are looking to emulate trends, riding on the waves of everything that is popular at any given moment in time. Others do not want to follow the crowds, but want to be the beacons. This is definitely the case of Mark Carson, a driven, passionate and charismatic rapper who set out to truly challenge himself, as well as his audience, with his new, forward-thinking sonic work, Door Knockerz. His songs are universal but diverse, as each and every single one of them incorporates a different genre, embracing a true horizontal integration of Hip-Hop music.

This innovative approach to rap music is the essence that leads to the creation of Mark's groundbreaking debut EP, Door Knockerz, a record that explores so many different possibilities with a broad, open mindset and with a very refreshing perspective. Crossover influences, meaning different genres creeping into Hip-Hop are actually a great way to keep the genre always innovative: it is easy to forget that the early Hip-Hop originated this way, as producers were sampling from sources as diverse as funk, jazz, rock and R&B records, not only passing the torch to a new generation of music listeners, but also keeping traditions alive and renovating them in a beautiful way.

The 5 songs on the EP explore different musical territories: opening number, Butcher Pete, is upbeat and energetic: a perfect opener with a fresh start influenced by Big Band styles from the the 40's. The second song, Bandwagon, was inspired by deep southern Blues and has some of the most clever and thought-provoking lyrics on the release, while the 3rd tune, "Blunts & Bitches" is pure fun and unadulterated Rock 'N Roll energy. The 4th track on the release, "Ridin' High," strikes for its sustained flow and chill atmosphere with an R&B vibe. The project is closed by "The Meta of Physics" another tune that stands out with some great double entendres and a great flow over a classic Old School Hip-Hop beat.

Mark's debut EP was produced by Jelani at Studio 23, where most of the instruments were recorded live. This project is impressive, diverse and unique, considering this talented artist is only 18 years old! Find out more and look forward to this outstanding record, which will be available everywhere January 1st, 2017.
