![](https://www.filmfestivals.com/pixus/festivals/oscars_2001/gallerie_pix/bjork.jpg) NEW YORK (AP) - Bjork has a reputation for being a little unusual, between the swan dress she wore to the Oscars this year and her musical style, which is a combination of whispering, wailing, and electronic beeps. She also believes in elves and fairies. "We think nature is a lot stronger than man,'' the Icelandic pop star says in a special global music issue of Time magazine. My family hunts half the food we eat. A relationship with things spiritual hasn't gone away,'' Bjork said in defending her belief. "In a lot of Western cities, they lost that and had to buy it again with meditation courses.'' The 35-year-old now lives in New York, but she says cities make her uncomfortable. "The first time I went to London, I'd walk for three or four hours and couldn't find a way out of the city,'' she said. "Only now have I begun to enjoy the strain of a city. Cities are bad for you, and I kind of like that. It compresses you and can be very stimulating.'' Bjork is performing Friday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Her latest album, "Vespertine,'' came out last month.
