NEW YORK (AP) - As tipped in the program for her recently wrapped Drowned World tour,
Madonna will on Nov. 13 release a best-of set, titled "GHV2," through her own
Maverick label. The 15-track album spans Madonna's career since 1991, with such top-10 hits as "Music," "Erotica," "Secret," "Frozen," "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," and "Ray of Light."
Also on Nov. 13,
Maverick will issue a DVD/VHS home video from the Drowned World tour, with further details yet to be announced. The lone broadcast from the trek was an August show in the artist's
Detroit hometown.
Interestingly, several other formidable hits have been excluded from "GHV2," including "This Used to Be My Playground" (No. 1, 1992); "I'll Remember" (No. 2, 1994); "You'll See" (No. 6, 1995); and "Rain" (No. 14, 1993).
The set serves as a companion to the 1990 release "The Immaculate Collection," which peaked at No. 2 on The Billboard 200. It featured such hits as "Like A Virgin," "Crazy for You," "Live To Tell," "Like a Prayer," and "Vogue," as well as the songs "Justify My Love" and "Rescue Me," which were recorded specifically for the release.
Madonna's next project will be a starring role in a film directed by her husband, Guy Ritchie. Filming for "Swept Away," a remake of a 1975 Italian love story, is currently underway in Malta.
