NEW YORK (www.skaisdead.com) - On January 29, North America's premiere Ska tour will once again emerge from its bi-colored crypt to wreak havoc on eager victims from coast to coast. In 2004, the first Ska Is Dead Tour played to over 20,000 fans in cities coast to coast, proving that Ska is actually far from dead.
Ska Is Dead 2 continues the tradition of featuring the most important American Ska bands in North America's best live music venues. The current tour pulls together bands from both coasts and the Midwest, with California's Voodoo Glow Skulls, New Jersey's Streetlight Manifesto and St. Louis's MU330.

The Voodoo Glow Skulls, around for over 15 years, were one of the bands to create the West Coast Ska-Core sound. Selling over a million records without bowing to anyone else's vision is no easy task. Along the way they have played hundreds of blistering live shows and stretched the limits of the genre, infusing punk, hardcore, and Latin influences into their music.

Streetlight Manifesto is a relatively new band, but composed of veteran members of the East Coast Ska-Punk scene. The core of the band is made up of Keasbey Nights era Catch 22 members and since forming has created an enormous underground buzz and huge fan base. With their amazing debut album on Victory Records, Streetlight Manifesto has proven itself to be the biggest new Ska band of the new millennium.

MU330 are one of the pillars of Midwest Ska, playing over 1,500 shows over the past 15 years and writing and performing some of the best songs and albums the genre has known. With 8 full length records on indie stalwart Asian Man Records, MU330 commands one of the most devout cult followings in Ska music today.

The Ska Is Dead tour is forcing fan and critic alike to test their preconceptions about the genre. While so many other musical styles rise and quickly fade away and so many other tours fail to live up to expectations, The Ska Is Dead tour proves when things are put together properly kids will come out in droves to dance to the Ska and support the music.
